Common Core: What works?
What is the Blogathon?
Essentially a blogathon is a blogging marathon. From July 7-31 the CORElaborate site will be flooded with blog posts from Teachers, and partners from the region, Washington State and across the country about Common Core Implementation and Literacy Design Collaborative.
How do I Get Involved?
Bloggers will be asked to submit a bio, photo, contact information, and potential topics. Once registered information will be sent to bloggers on submitting articles, engaging with other bloggers, social media coverage, prize drawings and logistics.
You can submit one blog, two blogs or more. We just ask that what you submit is your original content and is related to our theme “Common Core: What Works?“.
Not ready to blog? That’s ok. You can still participate by reading the blog posts, commenting on what you read, sharing the posts on social media and with your colleagues.
What happens during the Blogathon?
The CORElaborate blog will be crowd sourced. Bloggers and guest bloggers from around the nation will be posting and commenting on blogs on the topic of Common Core: What works?
Readers will be sharing the content and commenting on what they read, all in an effort to increase capacity and success around common core alignment.
Do I get anything for taking part?
Weekly drawings will be held for a gift card for bloggers, names are entered to the drawing for each post per week. Additionally, all bloggers will be promoted trough PSESD Literacy Social Media platforms and featured on the CORElaborate website as a guest blogger.
This is a professional learning opportunity, a chance to expand your professional learning network, a platform to share your best practices and to engage with fellow educators.
